Community Service

Page

I volunteer in three major areas of my life. I dedicate time to my hometown and community through the Willliamsburg (West Virginia) Community Action, U92 College Radio at West Virginia University, and the Bench (an artists collective which I am a director and founder of in Morgantown, WV.

Williamsburg Community Action

I have offered my services to my hometown in various ways such as hosting community fundraising dinners, aiding in highway adoption litter clean-up efforts, and assisting the Williamsburg Historical Society

The Williamsburg Historical Society recently acquired a grant with my small assistance to relocate and assemble a frontier fort to the museum property. This fort was previously located on property owned by a member of my family. I wrote and designed a Powerpoint to accompany the grant request/proposal.

U92 College Radio at West Virginia University

For the past three years, I have worked on a volunteer basis as a radio DJ at U92. This includes all of regular duties of a radio dj, but also includes community outreach as we have hosted events during campus diversity week, orientation, veteran’s events, and much much more.

The Bench

The Bench is an artists collective and community organization in Morgantown, WV that seeks to foster community among artists. This is accomplished through salons where we exhibit artists’ work, weekly critiques and workshops, artist collaboration and more.

The Bench is currently in the process of building its website and personal image, and more information will be posted here after that process is complete.
